To remove stains on white items, applying lemon juice or white vinegar on the stained area will do a great job. Allow it to soak well in the fabric and then wash just as you do in normal cases and the stain will come out very easily. Use salt if you accidentally spill wine of your clothes. Dumping salt on the stain immediately helps absorb moisture before it gets a chance of setting and you can then wash it as normal. To deal with red wine stains, chocolate stains and similar stains, soaking the item in glycerin for about half an hour will do wonders. Red wine spilt on your carpet? Use a dish or wash cloth to get much of it and then apply white vinegar on the spot directly. Then, rinse it out using a wet rag after soaking.
